Yuisa's Story

After a grim prognosis at the fertility clinic and a failed IVF round, I decided to try something different while undergoing tests in a new clinic to seek new treatment. I read about Sarah's fertility yoga in the neighborhood and began to take 1 -on-1 sessions. Our sessions helped relax and center me. They were restorative..... I conceived my daughter naturally shortly thereafter and feel grateful to Sarah as her 1-on-1 yoga sessions were instrumental in getting me through a very difficult period.

Aditi's Thank You

Hey Sarah...I wanted to tell you that your class yesterday helped me incredibly.  For the past week, I've been dealing with pinched nerves in my upper back/neck, radiating down into my arm and pec minor.  It's getting better slowly but after your class, it was completely unpinched!  I can't tell you exactly what it was but the overall combination of the asana plus the heat, plus what you said about "less is more". Unfortunately it pinched up again overnight, but I gave myself a version of your class...whatever I could remember, and again I'm unpinched! And generally, I love your classes and manner of teaching.  I can't take it as often as I'd like sadly…so I was super happy to be able to take yesterday. Anyway, just wanted to tell you.  And say thank you! xo, a

Recently, I've been searching my mind (and schedule!) for a way to make getting myself to more yoga classes happen. I teach, I do my home practice, but somehow or another, I'd stopped getting myself to class. I was feeling it in more way than one, and I knew I had to make a change. Thankfully, I received an email from the lovely and talented Sarah Willis, whom I'd met when she came to my Mama & Baby class a few weeks ago, announcing a class that she was teaching on Tuesday mornings at Metta/Sacred Space Studio in Red Hook. Eureka! The studio is around the corner from where Gia is going to preschool, and the class time worked perfectly for me between dropping Gia off and heading to work for the day. Sarah is a wonderful teacher and I immediately felt at home in her class. Moreover, I immediately felt back at home on my mat. Throughout the class, I kept thinking "This is amazing. This is exactly what I need." The answers are so simple. When we allow ourselves the time and space to do the things we need to do (and that includes the things we want/love to do!), we are exactly where we are supposed to be. Sometimes it's in a class, sometimes it's at home. Wherever we are, as long as we're taking care of ourselves, all is well. Take care of yourself. Practice. Get back to class. Namaste, Allison

I just want to reiterate how grateful I am to have found you as a teacher.  I find you to be inspiring, uplifting and grounding in the truest sense of those words.  I will miss your class in the upcoming months, but I hope to have the chance to continue practicing and learning with you once things settle.  And of course I remain very interested in and excited about the prospects of assisting you during your upcoming retreat! Uplifting!

Sarah, thank you so very much for your time today!  You were the espiritu santo that uplifted the whole room!  it was really amazing to see the effect you had on everyone and to benefit from it as well.  it was a perfect balance of learning and experiencing and it all helped us to connect and breathe easier.  it means so much to me that you gave of your time.  you're a gifted teacher and i'm so lucky to know you! thank you again and i look forward to seeing you in class again after thanksgiving xo Nicole

I took several group yoga classes in NYC over the span of a decade and always left thinking …“I should love doing yoga, but I don’t!” … until I met Sarah. She is able explain the biological, anatomical, and philosophical benefits of yoga both in general and for specific poses. Her Sanskrit chanting only heightens the experience.  I have numerous health issues – abdominal scarring, herniated discs, etc, and Sarah is not only able to assist with structural modifications, but she has allowed me to increase my flexibility immensely. Before meeting her, I had not done a backbend in almost 20 years! After doing regular private sessions with Sarah for a year, I embarked on a 30-day yoga challenge that was rigorous, gratifying, and something I would have never considered or remotely enjoyed before I met her!
